►Where are you from originally, and where did you go to school?
Fremont, CA. BS-UC Los Angeles. PhD (current)-UC San Diego
►What is your current position?
Graduate Student
►What is the “Big Picture” of what you study?
I use diabetes genetic data (GWAS for T1D, T2D) and combine it with single cell data (expression, chromatin accessibility) to understand genetic risk mechanisms of diabetes.
►What is your favorite aspect of your research?
In genetics/genomics, most scientists focus on one aspect of data. I get to work with both human genetics (performing GWAS for diabetes) and also single cell epigenomics data.
►When not in the lab what are your favorite hobbies/activities?
Surfing, snowboarding and board game
