I grew up in California and attended the University of Southern California for graduate school.

►What is your current position?

Assistant Professor

►Why did you decide to become a researcher?

There was not a decisive moment for me, rather a collection of experiences that informed my direction.

►What is the “Big Picture” of what you study?

To enhance the clarity of our challenges and solutions in type 1 diabetes.

►What is your favorite aspect of your research?

The people and the problems.

► What do you hope to achieve with your research?

To make contributions that are not forgotten.

►When not in the lab what are your favorite hobbies/activities?

Construction, landscaping, running, cycling, and swimming (not so much).
