►Where are you from originally, and where did you go to school?
I grew up in Philadelphia, and went to the University of Pennsylvania for college and UNC Chapel Hill for graduate school

Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at UCSD
►Why did you decide to become a researcher?
I love asking questions, thinking about new and creative ideas, and solving problems
►What is the “Big Picture” of what you study?
My lab studies how genetic variants in non-coding sequence affect gene regulation in specific cell types and tissues, and how these processes contribute to

Mentoring students and working with collaborators
► What do you hope to achieve with your research?
I hope to provide meaningful contributions to understanding our genome and its role in diabetes and other complex disease.
