►What is your current position?

Professor, Jackson Laboratory
Research Professor of Medicine, University of Massachusetts

►Why did you decide to become a researcher?

Experiences as a technician at Tufts University Medical Center as an undergrad were enjoyable and challenging

►What is the “Big Picture” of what you study?

My work encompasses the development and validation of emerging humanized mouse models that support our in vivo studies of human diseases without putting patients at risk

►What is your favorite aspect of your research?

Interaction with colleagues at The Jackson Laboratory, The University of Massachusetts, as well as in a number
of other research facilities

► What do you hope to achieve with your research?

We ultimately hope to make a significant contribution to the cure of diabetes and other human diseases

Immunologists and cancer researchers at The Jackson Laboratory
