Translational Working Group

The mission of the HIRN Translational Working Group is to provide assistance to HIRN investigators who are ready to validate and translate in vitro discovery and/or candidate biomarkers into clinically relevant assays that help predict the onset of T1D.

 

The Working Group consists of five (5) specific project teams:

  • Clinical Sample Acquisition: Carmella Evans-Molina, Peter Gottlieb with Jennifer Hosford, Desmond Schatz and Kevan Herold
  • Clinical Sample Storage and Management: Anath Shalev, Barbara Olack with Chris Wright
  • Standard Operating Procedures for Validation of Novel Biomarkers: Raghu Mirmira, Clayton Mathews and Mark Mamula
  • Novel Technologies for Biomarker Validation and Integration: Cherie Stabler, Wei-Jun Qian, and Thomas Metz
  • Comparison Workshop Efforts (INS DNA & future biomarkers): Carmella Evans-Molina, Mark Atkinson, Joyce Niland, and Oliver Blondel
